Our Area
Konyaaltı is a district on the western edge of Antalya, famous for the beach of the same name. It consists of 10 villages and 29 neighbourhoods and borders Kepez via Çakırlar Road and Muratpaşa via Dumlupınar Boulevard.
Until the late 20th century, the area now called Konyaaltı was known as “Koyaltı” (“below the bay”), because Antalya sits on top of the cliffs; over time the name became Konyaaltı in everyday speech.
According to the map of Anatolian civilisations, Konyaaltı lies within the borders of ancient Lycia, which bordered Pamphylia. The Lycian city in the Konyaaltı area was called Olbia.
Antalya’s port is in Konyaaltı. The area includes part of the Beydağları mountains, streams such as the Boğaçayı and Çandır, bays and many picnic spots.
